10. Problem Child
(Hepta Romanous)
or
“Willy’s song"A Christian’s song exploring the dilemma in his or her relationship with God. We admire and want to be like Jesus, God’s Beloved Son, but then we also still want to go our own way.
A famous man was once asked by Dan Rather what was his relationship with God. He wryly smiled and chuckled, “Well, let’s just say I am God’s problem child.”
I thought that was a true and understated way to state how we miss the mark of hitting God’s known will. So I wrote this expressing how I sometimes feel in my relationship with Him. In the song I joke that “adopted kids” can be trouble and that my name is in the “Book of Life,” but with red marks and check marks noting my questionable choices. Even someone believing the basic Billy Graham Gospel sermon struggles with obedience to Him.
